ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – United States secretary of state John Kerry on Monday reached Islamabad on a two-day visit to Pakistan in which he will meet the political and the army leadership to discuss the regional situation, bilateral relations and other matters of mutual interest.

According to the details, Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif will host a dinner in honour of Kerry.

John Kerry will visit the Foreign Office (FO) for the Pakistan-America strategic talks where he will meet Advisor to PM on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz. He will also go to the General Headquarters (GHQ) to meet Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif. According to the FO, Kerry’s visit would kick-off a new round of the Pakistan-America strategic talks.

According to the sources, Pakistan would raise several issues including operation against banned outfit Tehrik-i-Taliban’s (TTP) hideouts in Afghanistan, payments of the United Support Fund and the issue of due payments in accordance with the Kerry-Lugar Bill. According to the sources, discussion regarding the continuation of Pakistan-America cooperation in different sectors is expected.
