Seven FC personnel killed as militants attack Loralai checkpost

Summary Militants attacked the Chechlo FC Checkpost near Maikhtar area of Loralai district.

QUETTA (Web Desk) – At least seven Frontier Constabulary (FC) personnel were killed when some unknown militants attacked a checkpost in Balochistan s Loralai district last night, Dunya News reported on Monday.

According to sources, heavily armed suspects attacked the Chechlo FC Checkpost near Mekhtar area of Loralai district.

Militants fired rockets and bullets with automatic weapons at the camp, killing seven FC men including naib subedar Afzal, hawaldar Samiullah, sipahi Muhammad Ramzan, Attiqur Rehman, Shahid Gul and Tasawur Hussain.

Security personnel retaliated to the assault and wounded many of the assailants who were taken back by their companions.

The terrorists managed to escape from the scene after the attack. There are reports that four daily-wage employees of Frontier Constabulary (FC) have also been abducted.

Meanwhile, additional contingents of security personnel reached the area while helicopters were also used to track the militants down.

Balochistan, which borders Iran and Afghanistan, has seen an upswing in violence recently, with the province suffering from a separatist insurgency, sectarian violence and Taliban militants.
