KARACHI (Dunya News) – Police are on the lookout for the driver and owner of the oil tanker involved in the accident that occurred on the National Highway Link road in Karachi on early Sunday morning. Raids are being conduced in various places for the arrests of the culprits. Statements provided by those involved in the accident have also been noted.
According to the details, the drivers of the vehicle who fled after the accident and the owner of the tanker are being hunted down by the police. Raids have been conducted in Shereen Jinnah colony and Korangi Nasir colony for the arrest of the culprits. Investigational sources say that the police have confiscated the record of the bus stand. They stated that the police has penned down the statements provided by passengers travelling on the roof of the bus as well.
A passenger, Ikhtiar Ali reported to the police that 16 passengers were travelling on the roof of the bus. He reported that the conductor and the driver had over loaded the bus beyond its capacity. He also said that the bus was traveling at a very high speed when a speeding oil tanker suddenly came in front of it. A fire started in the bus after the accident. SSP Maleer Rao Anwaar said that the both the driver and the owner of the oil tanker will be apprehended within a short time after which the reasons behind the accident will be further highlighted.
