Summary Pakistan Army Chief, ISAF commander agreed to share info for eradication of terrorism

RAWALPINDI: (Dunya News) –International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) commander in Afghanistan General John Campbell and Afghan Army Chief General Karimi met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif at General Head-Quarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi. The three military leaders agreed upon sharing intelligence with each other for eradication of terrorism and improving border security.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), regional security and ways to improve border security were discussed in the meeting. General Karimi and General Campbell expressed grief over the Peshawar attack. They told that a full-fledged operation has been started against the terrorists on Afghan soil. They assured General Raheel Sharif of their cooperation to eradicate terrorism from the region.

General Raheel Sharif said that Pakistan army will give full cooperation to rout Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) hideouts near Pak-Afghan border. Intelligence will also be shared with the ISAF and Afghan National Army.

ISAF commander and Afghan Army Chief praised the role of Pakistani security forces in Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
