ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday issued a restraining order against the decision of Special Court to declare Former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Former Federal Minister Zahid Hamid and Former Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar as co-accused in Musharaf treason case.
Justice Athar Manullah of IHC headed the hearing of the petitions filed against the Special Court decision to declare Former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, Former Federal Minister Zahid Hamid and Former Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar for being accomplices in the Musharaf treason case.
After listening to the arguments of both parties, IHC issued a restraining order against the Special Court’s decision and adjourned the hearing until February 3.
The petitions were registered by Former CJ Abdul Hameed Dogar and Former Federal Minister Zahid Hamid.
Earlier , Special Court had partially approved the request for the trial of co-accused in Musharraf treason case and has also ordered to re-record the statements of former prime minister Shaukat Aziz, former law minister Zahid Hamid and Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar.
A three-member bench of Special Court under the presidency of Justice Faisal Arab held a hearing of Musharraf treason case. On approving request to include the names of co-accused in treason case, Special Court has ordered the Federation to submit their reply in next 15 days.
