LAHORE (Dunya News) — The Hindu community of Lahore held a candlelight vigil on Saturday at Krishna Mandir for the victims of the ghastly attack on Army Public School in Peshawar. Special prayers were offered for the departed souls on this occasion.

Hindu Sudhar Sabha president Amarnath Randhawa strongly condemned the brutal killing of innocent children in Peshawar saying “The Hindu Community of Lahore extends deepest sympathies to the parents and families of the victims of Peshawar attack. The tragic incident is a serious blow to the humanity. We stand united with the Pakistan Army to root out the menace of terrorism from our country.”

The members of the Hindu community including women and children also conducted special prayers for the speedy recovery of those injured in the Peshawar attack.

Holding candles and placards, they observed two-minute silence to honor the departed souls. The members of the community also appreciated the ongoing military operation and prayed for its success.

The temple caretaker Manohar Chand said on this occasion “It was a cowardly act to target the schoolchildren. We are all united against extremism and want to work together to make Pakistan a peaceful country.”
