Summary It seemed as if the administartion felt helpless when traders raised slogans

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The traders’ conference called on Saturday regarding providing protection to the traders’ community in context of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) demonstration of protest on December 15 ended as a result of hooliganism.

The Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) walked out of the conference as traders raised slogans.

Punjab Bar Council and Lahore High Court (LHC) Bar displayed no connection with the PTI’s demonstration of protest.

The district administration on the orders of the LHC had called a meeting of the traders’ community and its leaders at the Town Hall.

The agenda of the meeting was the protestion of the community and their properties but after the conference started, the traders started raising slogans against the district administration.

It seemed as if the administartion felt helpless at that point.

The Lahore CCPO Ameen Vais walked out the meeting saying that he would be in the District Coordination Officer’s (DCO) office and anybody wishing to see him could come there individually.

As soon as the CCPO left, all the other authorities quit the conference also.

On the other hand, the Punjab Bar Council has shown disinterest in the PTI’s protest saying that it is PTI’s internal agenda whereas the presedent of the LHC Bar said that the lawyers could not follow the agenda of any political party.
