KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) started to shut down Karachi on Friday setting Plan C in motion. According to which 24 places include Shara-e-Faisal, Teen Talwar monument Clifton, Hassan Square, Numaish Chowrangi, Maripur, Super Highway and National Highway among others.
Protests were being held various areas of Shara-e-Faisal whereas Star Gate has been choked by burning tires whereas blockade of Maripur Road hampered flow of the traffic leading to the port.
Public transport was meager while attendence at public and private schools and offices was next none.
Police opened the Nursery and Rashid Minhas Road for traffic, summoned additional force and formulated an alternative traffic plan.
PTI workers have staged sit-in at Teen Talwar since yesterday night whereas police exercised baton-charge to disperse PTI workers at Quaidabad. Workers had blocked Nursery area at Shara-e-Faisal when the Rapid Response Force forcibly got the road opened for traffic. PTI activists also blocked Numaish Chowrangi in the wake of the protest.
