Summary Tarbela four would be completed by the end of 2016, says Asif
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif on Wednesday has said that the electricity customers would get their electricity bills on time from the next month and that the circular debt of electricity is around Rs 300 billion to Rs 400 billion.
The minister was given a detailed briefing by the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) on hydel power projects including Dasu power project.
While talking to the media, he said that they have found out three major reasons of over-billing.
Asif said that Tarbela four would be completed by the end of 2016 while work is being done for the formation of Tarbela five also.
He also said that the Gilgit-Baltistan government and WAPDA have Rs 25 billion to purchase land for the formation of Bhasha Dam.
Initial funding has been received for the Dasu Power Project and work for its formation has also been started, he added.
Khawaja Asif further said that an end to the energy crisis is not possible within few coming years however, there definitely would be a decrease in the electricity outages.
