LHC orders action against companies raising LPG prices unilaterally

LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to take action against the companies that raise the prices of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) by themselves. LHC directed OGRA to play its legal role in curbing the miseries of the common people by acting against such companies, Dunya News reported.

Earlier, applicant Naushab A. Khan said, while giving his arguments before Justice Shahid Karim, that certain companies have increased the prices of LPG without OGRA’s approval as the winter has set in. He told the court that companies have increased the price of domestic cylinders by Rs. 60 and price of commercial cylinders by Rs. 240. He said that this increase in prices has added to the problems of the common people. He requested LHC to direct OGRA to take action against such companies.
