Summary PPP is collaborating with the government only to save democracy, says Kaira

MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) – Former federal minister for Information and broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira on Wednesday has said that Constitution of Pakistan needs amendments to make the Election Commission (EC) of Pakistan free of all the external and internal pressures.

He expressed these views while addressing the officers who are under-training at the Kashmir Institute of Management Muzaffarabad.

Kaira said that besides former judges, retired bureaucrats and politicians could also be appointed as Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of Pakistan.

He said that the General Elections of 2008 also witnessed rigging.

Kaira also said that Pakistan Peoples’ Party is at loss while it stands with Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif.

He said that PPP is collaborating with the government only for the sake of democracy in the country.

He further said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s demands are just but they could not say that his ways to have his demands met in the present situation of the country are right.
