Summary Today's politics has many sentimental "children", says Zardari

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former president Asif Ali Zardari on Monday has said that worst of kind democracy is better than the best form of Martial Law.

He expressed these views at the 47th foundation day of the Pakistan Peoples’ party (PPP).

Zardari said that they would neither let the boat of democracy sink not the government fall due to somebody’s conspiracies.

He said that the workers of PPP also like the sloganeering of ‘Go Nawaz Go’ but why this slogan be raised on somebody else’s pitch?

We are not in a hurry, let Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan bowl for now, he said.

Zardari said that after Khan levels the pitch, they would come then.

He also said that it strengthens the democracy if we let others play for some time. Former president said that the one, who has come to Islamabad, believes in sentimental politics and that today’s politics has many lost “children”.

Zardari said that the people who have reservations over the third umpire, there cricket is itself suspicious and that they have played so far depending on the third umpire.

Separately, former president said that politics is not a T20 or One-Day-International (ODI), it is a test match. He also said that a fast bowler gets irritated easily if he does not get an early wicket.

He expressed these views at the opening ceremony of the PPP social services wing at Bilawal House Lahore.

He said that those who like to bowl fast may get their ball rough and old and that only an old ball could be swung in air. They are the players of a test match and that they would take their time at the pitch, he added.

He further said that they are the protectors of democracy and would protect it against its enemies.
