Summary SAARC should help to make dispute-free South Asia by enhancing trade and economical matters.

KATHMANDU (Dunya News) – While talking to the 18th South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit today (Wednesday) in Kathmandu, Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif said that steps should be taken for the improvement of regional cooperation among SAARC countries to refrain hostile relations.

He congratulated the government of Nepal for organizing the summit and has also welcomed other representatives of SAARC.

PM stated that we have fallen prey to poverty, malnutrition, diseases and unemployment and to overcome them, we need to work together.

He claimed that increasing terrorism has destroyed the regional peace; therefore, all SAARC members are requested to come forward to eradicate terrorism.

He further lauded the theme of SAARC which is ‘Deeper Integration for Peace and Prosperity ‘and urged SAARC to promote cultural, religious and trade relations between SAARC participants through different programs.

South Asian countries believe in democracy so gaps between them should also be bridged and dispute free South Asia should come up with great cooperation in diversified fields, PM Nawaz added.

He pronounced that Pakistani government has recently started its vision of ‘2025’ by which we are actively participating to develop good relations through soft visa policies, energy potential and trans-regional oil and gas programs.

He assured to put forward his utmost efforts in promoting talents and entrepreneurship by utilizing SAARC platform and desired to have enhanced trade and economical matters among SAARC countries.

Furthermore, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also offered to host the next SAARC Summit in Islamabad.
