GILGIT BALTISTAN (Dunya News) – The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) of Gilgit-Baltistan on Tuesday has sentenced the owner of Geo Television and Jang Group, Mir Shakeelur Rehman to as many as 26 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1.3 million for broadcasting a blasphemous programme.

The court has given directives to Inspector General (IG) Islamabad, IG Punjab and IG Sindh to arrest Rehman through Interpol.

The ATC has also ordered to seize Rehman’s passport and property.

Rehman was accused of blasphemy after GEO Television broadcast a programme which allegedly insulted the family of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
