Reports of PM's address to nation 'incorrect', says govt spokesperson

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - A government spokesperson has clarified that the reports regarding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif`s address to the nation were `incorrect.`

The PM Secretariat also denied the reports without giving any further details.

Earlier today, state-run Radio Pakistan`s website reported that PM Nawaz during his today`s speech would take the nation into confidence over prevailing political situation in the country and he will also highlight the important agreements recently signed between Pakistan and China.

The news posted by Radio Pakistan was removed within an hour.

Last time, PM Nawaz addressed the nation on August 12, 2014, two days before the launch of massive anti-government rallies led by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri.

During his speech, the Prime Minister had requested that a Supreme Court commission be formed to investigate alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections.
