ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday announced that the prices of petroleum products will further be reduced next month, adding that transportation fares and electricity prices will also be reduced, Dunya News reported.

Expressing his views after meeting about energy, Prime Minister said that the government’s utmost priority is to reduce difficulties faced by people. He said he was extremely happy after reducing petroleum prices last month.

He said that the reduction in petroleum prices also caused reduction in inflation and benefits to the farmers.

He vowed there will be a prominent reduction in petroleum prices next month as well which, he said, would directly impact the transport fares and electricity prices.

He said he wants reduction in prices of other commodities as well.

Nawaz Sharif said that the farmers are like backbone of the country’s economy and therefore it is government’s utmost priority to end difficulties faced by farmers.

He said it is part of government’s agenda to reduce cost of agriculture production, adding that reduction in cost of production would directly mean reduction in commodities purchased by the end customers.

Prime Minister further said that Pakistan has long enjoyed friendly relations with China, adding that Chinese president had invited him to sign ‘historic agreements’.

He vowed that 19 agreements with China will change the fate of the region.

Nawaz Sharif said that expedited work is in progress to end the electricity load shedding.

He vowed not to rest until the end of energy crises, announcing that the load shedding will end from the country during the tenure of the existing government led by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).
