Summary Speaker NA Ayaz Sadiq submitted a plea to impede the examination of election tribunal.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) reserved its judgment over the case of constituency NA-122 on Tuesday.
Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq had submitted a plea to impede the examination of election tribunal. Justice Ejaz ul Haq of LHC heard the case.
Lawyer of Speaker NA informed the court that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has challenged the electoral results of the constituency in election tribunal.
He further said documents were not annexed with the petition, which is a violation of Public Representation Act. Election tribunal should therefore declare the examination null and void.
On the other hand, Imran Khan’s lawyer told the court that record rigging was witnessed in NA-122 and that the documents have been presented before the tribunal through electoral rigging petition, the examination should continue and a quick decision should therefore be made.
The court reserved its decision after hearing out arguments from both sides.
