Summary Shafqat Mehmood says govt not serious, arresting our workers on one side, want talks on the other
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) - Government has once again signaled readiness for starting talks with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and arranging a meeting of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif with Chairman PTI Imran Khan. However, Imran Khan has said that there is no need for the meeting.
According to government sources, government is ready to arrange a meeting between Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif if Imran is willing. The government’s signal has come at a time when Chairman PTI’s arrest warrants have been issued and he has been declared ‘wanted’ and the PTI has given the government deadline of November 30.
On the other hand, PTI has rejected any chances of meeting between the two leaders. Talking to Dunya News, Imran Khan said that the government acted upon none of the promises it had made. He said that there was no point in meeting the Prime Minister now.
PTI leader Shafqat Mehmood said that the government was not serious in negotiations. “On one hand, our workers are being arrested while on the other, they are talking about negotiations”, said Shafqat.
