Summary An amendment in the law is important for the appointment of Rana Bhagwandas as the CEC, says Gillani
MULTAN (Dunya News) – Former prime minister (PM) Yousaf Raza Gillani on Friday has said that the government is late in making its decision and if leaders of political parties are arrested now then these arrests would be termed as politics of revenge.
He expressed these views while talking to the media on Multan Airport.
He said that nobody listens to Awami Muslim League (AML) leader Shaikh Rasheed Ahmad and that the public denounces violence.
He said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, by all means can hold protests but politics of violence would not be accepted at all.
Gillani said that if PTI leaders could not control the situation then they would control it for them.
He also said that if there is any leader of the youth then it is Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and not anyone else.
He said that PPP workers have given many sacrifices for the rule of law in the country.
Gillani said that holding of elections before the due time would not be good for the democracy.
He further said that an amendment in the law is important for the appointment of Rana Bhagwandas as the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of Pakistan.
