Summary Government has not given any response despite ECP’s another contact with the Establishment Division.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has appointed Director General (DG) Administration Usman Ali as acting secretary of ECP on Wednesday.
According to details, DG Admin has been designated as acting secretary ECP as institutional matters suffered a lot due to the vacant post of secretary ECP and government had not responded despite ECP’s second contact with the Establishment Division.
Earlier, Establishment Division had demanded three names for the position of Secretary but after Ishtiaq Ahmad’s retirement, the new Secretary hasn’t been named.
It is pertinent to mention here that the post of Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan (CECP) is also vacant till date while Supreme Court of Pakistan’s deadline for appointment of new CEC expires on Thursday.
