Summary Dar rebuffs Khan’s suggestion, says judicial commission consists of judges alone.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Government on Monday rebuffed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI’s) suggestion to include personnel of intelligence agencies in the judicial commission to be formulated to probe election rigging.

Federal Minister of Finance Ishaq Dar during a press conference along with Federal Minister for Information Pervaiz Rashid and Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid stated that it’s neither kingship nor is it law of the jungle; judicial commission consists of judges alone.

Doors to dialogue had never been closed, he added.

He said the sit-in has caused huge losses to country s economy adding that he witnessed a decline in investors confidence on his recent visit to China.

In response to Ishaq Dar’s press conference, spokesperson PTI said Ishaq Dar might not remember but consultation had already been made in regard to making personnel of Inter services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI) part of judicial commission to probe rigging. She said Dar’s statements suggest government does not intent to probe election rigging.

Earlier, PTI chairman Imran Khan on Sunday withdrew his demand of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s resignation while putting forth a fresh demand to form an inquiry commission comprising members of judiciary and spy agencies Military Intelligence (MI) and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Dunya News reported.

Addressing the rally in Rahim Yar Khan, PTI chairman demanded that the commission be made by November 30 and that the commission should complete its investigation of the alleged rigging in general elections 2013 in four to six weeks.

He said Nawaz Sharif can remain Prime Minister during this time while the sit-in will also continue. However, he said, Prime Minister must resign if the commission proves rigging.

PTI chairman warned that the fresh sit-in protest scheduled to take place on November 30 would not necessarily be peaceful and that it would make it tough for the government to continue.

He said PTI hasn’t turned down negotiations and dialogue, alleging that the dialogue process was stopped by the government.

Imran Khan also criticized judiciary by saying that the judiciary might be independent but, he said, it is not yet impartial.
