HAFIZABAD (Dunya News) – Chief Minister Punjab (CM) Shahbaz Sharif on Monday visited flood affected areas of Hafizabad and assured that government would cooperate for the rehabilitation of flood hit areas.

According to details, CM Punjab inspected the relief and medical camps arranged in the areas to assist the suferers.

Addressing the flood victims in Vanke Tarar area of Hafizabad, he stated that recent floods have caused devastation in Punjab due to which a committee has been made to review the loss of houses and lives.

Shahbaz Sharif vowed that government has planned to give 1 lac and 25 thousand compensation amount to those hit by floods.

He claimed that government has fulfilled all the promises made and didn’t lie like those standing on containers whereas sit-ins have destroyed country’s economy and this critical stage will drown the politics of chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan.

Moreover, amount of 61 crores has been reserved for the rehabilitation of affected areas.

Earlier, flood water from River Chenab caused heavy damaged in Pindi Bhattian and completely destroyed more than 25 localities while dozens of others were submerged under flood water.

Flood water also entered dozens of villages of Hafizabad where people are facing lot of difficulties as local administration has failed to provide relief to the affected people.

According to sources, River Chenab is in high flood at Qadirabad while flood water entered several villages of Phalia and Jhang due to breach in river dike near Thathi Shah Muhammad.

Meanwhile, flood water from Nullah Deck has inundated more than 200 villages in Pasroor where affected people are facing shortage of food and life saving medicines.
