LAHORE (Dunya News/Web Desk) – Federal and provincial governments have beefed up security across the country for Yum-e-Ashur.
In Lahore, main procession of Muharram 10th (Ashura) has been taken out from Nisar Haveli amid tight security.
In Islamabad, the government has imposed a ban on pillion riding on Muharram 9 and 10, whereas mobile services will also be suspended in some areas. Except for ‘Azaan’ use of loud speaker has been banned in mosques coming in the routes of Muharram processions.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar has directed law enforcement agencies to arrange foolproof security across the country on Youm-e-Ashur.
Reportedly, as many as 32,695 troops of Army and paramilitary forces have been deployed across 54 districts of the country to assist police in maintaining law and order during Muharram.
