ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq on Thursday wrote to the Election Commission of Pakistan to inform that the resignations of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers were not verified, Dunya News reported.
It was stated in the letter written to the ECP that PTI’s resignations could not be verified despite efforts. The letter does not mention anything about acceptance or rejection of the resignations.
According to the details, this letter has been written in response to ECP’s letter of September 16.
Meanwhile, PTI’s MNA Asad Umar said while addressing the media that PTI MNAs have already tendered their resignations and that they will not retract. He said if the Speaker gives them the chance then they can announce their resignations in the National Assembly.
The Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Khursheed Shah claimed that the government is under pressure not to accept the resignation but the system faces no threat if PTI resignations are accepted.
