KARACHI (Dunya News) – To ensure law and order ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram, police have launched crackdown on banned outfits and criminals in the metropolis.
During raids in different areas of the city, police have arrested at least 37 suspects on Saturday.
22 people were taken into custody during search operation in Kati Pahari and adjoining areas. Meanwhile, residents of the area protested against the operation, claiming that police entered their homes without lady police constables and detained innocent people.
On the other, police authorities revealed that these raids were conducted on a tip-off regarding presence of criminal elements.
Earlier, police also raided hotels near Cantt Station and arrested 15 suspects, who are being interrogated.
Police officers stated that targeted operation will continue to maintain law and order in the city.
