HARIPUR (Dunya News) — Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahirul Qadri said that the Punjab government is responsible for the Model Town tragedy and vowed that he would avenge the killings of his activists.

Addressing the rally in Haripur, Qadri said that the sit-in has been transformed into a country-wide movement, adding that he will now take the message of revolution to each and every city.

He claimed that the 70-day long sit-in has raised awareness amongst the people. “Today’s rally in Haripur is a ‘symbolic funeral’ of system and soon the nation would witness the ‘real funeral’ of the government,” Qadri said.

He said he would continue the protests until the culprits are brought to justice. He said that he wants a system where the victims do not have to beg for justice. He announced that he did not end the sit-in in Islamabad but has extended the movement throughout the country.
