Summary Tensions at borders have increased since BJP takeover, says Advisor to PM on Foreign Affairs

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has said that the disputed status of Occupied Kashmir cannot be changed. He said that tensions at the Pakistan-India border have been increasing ever since Bharatia Janata Party (BJP) has taken over yet it will not change the disputed status of Kahsmir.

Issuing the policy statement on the unfortunate events that have occurred at the working boundary recently, Foreign Affairs advisor said that the BJP government wants to divide Kashmir and make it a part of the Indian Union but they will not be able to do that.

Sartaj Aziz said that the human rights violations in Indian Held Kashmir are being voiced before the international community. “Insensitivity of the Indian government during recent floods in Kashmir is before everyone’s eyes”, he said. He also informed that violations on working boundary have outnumbered the violations on the Line of Control (LoC) recently. He said that Pakistan will have to make its Kashmir policy more effective. He requested to allow the military observers of the United Nations to work freely. “They will decide who started the firing first”, he said.
