Summary Workers started aerial firing on receiving success news; Shahbaz Sharif takes notice of the incident
SHEIKHUPURA: (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) candidate from Sheikhupura Hassaan Riaz has won the by-election in PP-162. Defeating the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q) backed independent candidate Usman Nisar Pannu, Hassaan Riaz secured 39,816 votes while Usman Nisar remained runner-up securing 20,112 votes.
Receiving the initial results, PML-N workers started rejoicing. Forgetting all the rules and regulations after winning the election, workers started aerial firing. Entire area echoed with the sound of firing on PML-N candidate’s den. Police officers remained silent spectators watching all this happen before their eyes. Instead of taking action against them, they kept enjoying the situation. Celebrating Hassaan Riaz’s victory, PML-N workers rejoiced with some fireworks and distributed sweets as well.
Taking notice of aerial firing, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif scolded the police and directed them to arrest the accused.
