KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Thursday said no one’s conscience was shaken when the term ‘Muhajir’, literally ‘migrant’ was abused. He said clerics should have demonstrated against Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Khursheed Shah’s statement, Dunya News reported.

Altaf Hussain said it was now time to move on instead of getting stuck in the past.

Addressing a session of religious clerics via telephone from London, Altaf Hussain said that anyone who denies Quran is outside the fold of Islam, adding that the clerics kept resting at home and didn’t even say a word against offensive statements of Khursheed Shah.

MQM chief said that some clerics and even institutions are involved in inciting sectarian hatred.

He said Pakistani army was dragged into fight between Russia and America.

Meanwhile, the MQM staged a walkout of the Senate as protest against Khursheed Shah’s slurs.
