Summary I shall continue to work in individual capacity, says Javed Hashmi.

MULTAN (Dunya News) – Talking to the media on Thursday, Javed Hashmi said he would accept the result of NA-149 by-polls openheartedly and other contestants should do that too.

He vowed not join any political party after he wins the elections and intends to keep working in individual capacity.

I shall not celebrate my triumph in the wake of prevalent critical circumstances of the country, he added.

He pinned the economy of the country to rights being served to the poor.

He further said by-elections will affect the national politics.

Taking about the voters’ turnout he said, they are coming out to cast their votes in normal routine and the influx shall increase with time.

In the context: Voting is underway for by-election on National Assembly seat in Multan`s NA-149 constituency.

There are 17 candidates in the run for the seat which had fallen vacant after resignation of former PTI president Javed Hashmi.

As per details, 286 polling stations have been established in the constituency, out of which 90 polling stations have been declared sensitive and 16 have been declared most sensitive.

Rangers’ personnel have been deployed at sensitive polling stations while four thousand policemen are also performing their duties to ensure law and order.

In NA-149, a total of 341,527 registered people will exercise their right to vote. 185,862 voters are male and 155,665 voters are female.

Moreover, 144 polling booths for men and 142 polling booths have been set up for women. Local administration has imposed section 144 and announced holiday in the district today.

Independent candidates Javed Hashmi, Amir Dogar and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate Javed Siddiqui are prominent candidates for the by-election.
