ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday issued the Electoral Rules Amendment Ordinance and Delimitations Amendment Ordinance as per which, the tasks of delimitations and preparation of lists for local body elections have been assigned to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Dunya News reported.
As per the ordinances, the Election Commission is to perform the task of delimitations and preparation of electoral lists for local body polls.
The ECP has also been empowered to decide on any objection arising over the demarcation process as per the ordinances.
