KARACHI (Web Desk) – Sindh Home Department has forwarded a letter to the Inspector General of Sindh police and Rangers Headquarters, stating that Pakistan Peopels Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari faces serious life threat, Dunya News reported on Tuesday.
“It has been reported that miscreants of Jundullah Group are planning to target Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in near future. Further details regarding exact date, time place and method of attack are not available,” the home department said.
According to sources, the concerned authorities have been urged to ensure extreme vigilance and special measures to avoid any untoward incident.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is due to hold a rally at Mazar-e-Quaid on October 18 where Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will address the gathering. The event will also mark seventh anniversary of the day ex-PM Benazir Bhutto returned to Pakistan from eight years in exile and a bomb blast hit her convoy near Karsaz, leaving more than 200 people dead.
The preparations at the venue have already begun as containers have been placed and a stage is being installed. More than 200 containers will be placed at the venue of the rally and as many as 3000 party members would be on duty to review security measures.
