KARACHI (Dunya News) – At least twenty one people died as result of drinking raw alcohol on Wednesday, Dunya News reported.
Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah took notice of the incident and summoned the report from the Inspector General (IG). The police have taken three persons into custody.
According to the details, two died on Monday at Sharafi Goth area, fifteen died on Tuesday while another four fell prey on Wednesday.
The victims belonged to Landhi, Korangi, Zaman Town, Mehmoodabad, Akhtar Colony, Sharafi Goth and Bilal Colony areas.
At least 14 affected persons are still being treated at Jinnah Hospital.
CM Sindh directed the IG to launch an immediate action against the culprits.
The police have reportedly taken at least three individuals into custody and have seized raw alcohol from their possession. The police say the alcohol sample will be tested in the lab to find out more.
The police also formed teams that are raiding in various areas of Karachi to catch the culprits.
