LAHORE (Dunya News) – The decision to appoint the head for Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe the Model Town tragedy case has been delayed again on Friday. Inspector General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Duranee apologized for not accepting the offer. Inspector General Azad Kashmir Khuda Baksh Awan is expected to become the head of the JIT instead.
According to sources, head for the Joint Investigation Team to probe the Model Town case has not been appointed yet. IG KPK Nasir Duranee who had been proposed as a head of JIT has excused from the offer. His refusal has apparently caused the delay. Sources have told Dunya News that IG Azad Kashmir Malik Khuda Baksh Awan is expected to become the head of JIT. On the other side, PAT is insisting Nasir Duranee to accept the offer of becoming the head of JIT.
