ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Islamabad High Court on Friday upheld suspension of the notification regarding imposition of Section 144 in the federal capital and ordered the Additional Attorney General to present list of arrested terrorists.

IHC’s Justice Athar Minallah heard the case pertaining to imposition of Section 144.

During case proceedings, the judge asked whether the government intends to impose Section 144 on Eid-ul-Azha or any other occasion.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyer told court that if such action taken, it will be difficult to offer Eid prayer.

Additional Attorney General Afnan Karim Kundi stated that there are threats due to ongoing military operation (Zarb-e-Azb) in the North Waziristan tribal region. Several terror incidents have already taken place in different areas.

He said the measures are being taken to avert any untoward incident in Islamabad.

The Additional Attorney General argued that the government had issued No Objection Certificate (N.O.C) to the protesting parties including PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek, however, both parties violated it later.

Meanwhile, the court upheld the decision regarding suspension of Section 144 imposition notification and directed Additional AG to present list of those terrorists who have been detained so far.

The case hearing was adjourned till October 13.
