RAWALPINDI (Dunya News)— Dengue fever is spreading rapidly across Punjab as an increased number of cases are being reported.

During the last 24 hours, two more patients including a young boy and a man have been hospitalized in Rawalpindi.

A total number of 96 confirmed dengue cases have been reported in the province of Punjab.

According to health officials, the mosquitoes flourish during the rainy season but can breed in water-filled pots, plastic bags and cans as well. The changing weather is also responsible for the increase in the dengue cases, they added.

The health officials are of the view that apart from the efforts by government, public awareness and protection against the disease is equally important.
