Summary MQM has announced to boycott Sindh Assembly's session today in the wake of their workers' detention.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah telephoned leaders of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Dr. Farooq Sattar and Babar Ghori in London on Thursday, in the wake of the deteriorating law and order situation in the city.
MQM leaders told CM Sindh that Rangers raided MQM’s sector office on Abul Hassan Ispahani road; tortured and arrested more than 40 of their workers. They further accused Rangers of firing and vandalizing the place.
Leaders of MQM demanded CM Sindh to take strict notice of the incident. Qaim Ali Shah saddened over the situation; assured that he would make every effort to help release MQM’s detained workers. He further requested MQM leaders to appease their workers.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain strongly condemned the arrest of MQM workers from sector office. He said such actions would spur hatred instead of love.
Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo contacted Farooq Sattar and Waseem Akhter and assured that MQM workers would be served justice. He further assured his help according to the law.
MQM has announced the boycott of Sindh Assembly session today.
The rangers, on the other hand, have released 8 detained workers of MQM.
