ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rasheed on Wednesday challenged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan to a parliamentary debate over the controversial Election Commission report regarding the election 2013 rigging, Dunya News reported.

Pervaiz Rasheed claimed that the sit-in protest leaders made 120 false speeches over a period of 30 days, adding that the speakers standing on the containers recite hadiths before beginning the speeches.

He said that the Quran mentions severe punishments for those who commit slander and backbite.

Pervaiz Rasheed said that the punishment of those who lie behind someone’s back is equivalent of eating the dead.

He said how Imran Khan is related to ‘Slander Khan’ can be assessed from his speeches.

Information Minister further said that parliament is the best platform for democratic traditions and that those who lie avoid coming into the parliament.

Pervaiz Rasheed said that Imran Khan lied by terming observer’s report as Election Commission’s report, adding that none of the allegations leveled by Khan are mentioned in the observer’s report.

He said the election was led by the caretaker government and not by his party.

Information Minister said that the commentators’ report nowhere mentions ’35 punctures’. He challenged Imran Khan into a debate in the parliament over the report.
