KARACHI (Web Desk) – Due to increasing violence and criminal activities in the metropolis, police have requested the Sindh government to re-impose ban on pillion riding, Dunya News reported on Wednesday.

The request was forwarded by Additional Inspector General of Karachi police Ghulam Thebo.

He informed the authorities that terrorists are using motorcycles in target killings. They are also targeting police officials and innocent civilians.

It merits mentioning here that the Sindh government recently lifted ban on pillion riding in Karachi, keeping in view the problems faced by the public at large. At least 461 people were booked for violation of ban in the city.

The Sindh Home Ministry on Monday issued a notification to lift the ban. The ban was imposed on September 11 for ten days over security concerns but it was lifted just after five days.
