Summary Islamabad and Lahore courts accept bails of 137 PTI and PAT workers
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Punjab government has extended the detention of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers for one month. On the other hand Islamabad and Lahore courts have accepted bail requests of 137 PTI and PAT workers.
On the directions of Punjab government, District Coordination Officers (DCOs) of various districts have extended the detention of PTI and PAT workers for one month. Special Court of Islamabad heard the case of 103 PTI and PAT workers. Advocate Naeem Gujjar told the court that no weapons were recovered from the workers and their identification parade was also not conducted. After listening to the arguments, court ordered the arrested workers to submit 50000 rupee documents for bail guarantees.
Before judicial magistrate Imtiaz Noor’s court in Lahore, PTI lawyer Gohar Sindhu said that all the sections and articles invoked against PTI workers were bail-able. After listening to the arguments, court ordered to release all the 34 workers on bail.
On the other hand, Lahore High Court has ordered Law Minister Punjab and Inspector General Police Punjab to give their responses on 18th September about the writs filed before the court related to PTI workers’ arrests and detentions. At the same time, Islamabad police released Central Deputy Secretary Information Umar Rriaz Abbasi shortly after arresting him.
