LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Jamaat Islami (JI) head Sirajul Haq has said that not preparing for the floods ahead of time was the failure of government and its institutions. He inaugurated the central camp of the Al-Khidmat Foundation outside Surayya Azeem Hospital near Choburji, Lahore today (Friday).
Talking to media on this occasion, Sirajul Haq said that government should tell the nation what purpose institutions like National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) are serving. He asked if the institutions were working properly.
JI head said that India has made plans to destroy Pakistan through water terrorism. He advised the government to take this issue up before United Nations and other international institutions.
Responding to a question about the prevailing political situation in the country, JI head said that political ‘jirga’ (committee) has shared its recommendations with the government, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT). He said that all the parties need some time to discuss the recommendations with their core committees and the matters will be finalized after consultations.
