Summary Former CM Punjab says Rescue 1122 of his era rescuing people from floods
GUJRAT: (Dunya News) – Former Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has said that Sharif brothers are responsible for devastation caused by flood in Punjab. He said that the rulers have drowned people into flood. “Rescue 1122 of Army and my era is rescuing people from floods”, ex CM Punjab said. He said that India and Sharif brothers were responsible for the floods and had Kalabagh Dam been made today, flood could have been controlled.
Pakistan Muslim League (Q) central leader Chaudhry Pervez Elahi visited the flooded areas of Gujrat today (Tuesday) and distributed camps, relief goods, utensils and food items among the flood victims.
Talking to media on this occasion, Pervez Elahi said that Rescue 1122, which was established in Army’s era, is rescuing people today from floods. He said that had Kalabagh dam been made, not only the flood could have been controlled but it would have also been producing electricity. He said that rulers’ good governance has been exposed by the flood.
“Rulers are hesitating from facing the people and are doing aerial surveillance”, Former CM Punjab said. Criticizing Nawaz Sharif’s friendship policy with India, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi said that Prime Minister is sending gifts of mangoes to the Indian PM Narendra Modi while he is sending the gift of flood in response.
Gujrat’s Chaudhry said that Sharif brothers did not release any funds for repairing the barriers in Punjab to control floods and spent the entire budget in making ‘Jangla Bus Service’. “Had we not fixed the barriers in Punjab during our tenure, floods could have brought more destruction”, concluded Pervez Elahi.
