Summary MQM Senator says Parliament is not against any institution, some speeches were inappropriate
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News, Web Desk) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Senator Babar Ghauri has said that entire nation has elected public representatives to the Parliament. “PM Nawaz Sharif is not a party’s Prime Minister, he is the Prime Minister of entire Pakistan”, said Ghauri.
Speaking to the joint session of the Parliament today (Monday), Babar Ghauri said that Prime Minister’s designation is respectable. He said that whenever Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif called MQM, the party was there. He said that MQM did not support the demand of PM’s resignation.
However, he said, the people holding sit-in outside the Parliament House have some issues that need to be addressed. He said that several rounds of talks have been held between the government and the protesters. “There were some occasions when opposition was also involved in the talks and the protesters agreed to most things”, he said. “Talks are held again and again but suddenly news comes that there is a deadlock again”, said MQM Senator.
Babar Ghauri said that the Parliament must dispel the impression that this session is against some other institutions. “Imposing Article 245 was the right decision. It is because of the soldiers of Pakistan Army that we are holding this session here today”, Babar said.
