Summary Some heavy bashing for PTI, PAT while supporters of both give clarifications
LAHORE: (Web Desk) – Chinese President Xi Jinping has reportedly postponed his visit to Pakistan. Although the postponement of the visit has not yet been confirmed, the report literally took the Tweitterati by shock. There was mixed reaction after hearing the news on the micro-blogging website but the government is blaming it entirely on the protesters.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that it was Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri’s agenda which has now been fulfilled..
Chinese President s visit postponed .... Progress & development thwarted & subverted, agenda fulfilled.. Well done IK & TUQ! #Anti-Pakistan
— Maryam Nawaz Sharif (@MaryamNSharif) September 4, 2014Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal almost had similar views..
IQ & TUQ People of Pakistan will never forgive u. U ruined 1 yr hard efforts of Pak & Chinese govts 4 groundbreaking of billions $s projcts
— Ahsan Iqbal (@betterpakistan) September 4, 2014On the other hand, PTI supporters believed that Chinese President had not cancelled the visit. Instead, according to them, Pakistan government was blaming Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri but it were the two actually who were actually suffering..
Everyone moaning about loss of $ s due to cancellation of Chinese President visit. What about the people who lost their lives due to rain?
— Ali. (@seeratic) September 4, 2014
There were yet others who believed that it was only because of the containers placed in Islamabad..
Chinese President has canceled visit because of the police brutalities, killings, and the massive amount of containers placed everywhere.
— Tauqeer Ahmed Qadri™ (@TauqeerUlQadri) September 4, 2014Some, oddly though, believed that the postponement of Xi Jinpings visit was actually Imran Khan s moral victory..
Truth is, Chinese President also joined us & did #CivilDisobedience against PMLN, no bills, taxes, financial exchange until Nawaz resigns!
— Farhan Khan Virk (@FarhanKVirk) September 4, 2014However, Secretary Information PTI Shirien Mazari s daughter Imaan Mazari looked genuinely concerned over the postponement of the visit..
You know these protesters need to go home when the Chinese president cancels his visit to PK. Mushkil say int l comm mei ek dost tha humara!
— Imaan Z Hazir (@ImaanZHazir) September 4, 2014Senior columnist Zarrar Khuhro shared the sentiment..
Hearing Chinese President has postponed visit to Pakistan? Not good. Not good at all. This is Pak s most crucial strategic relationship.
— Zarrar Khuhro (@ZarrarKhuhro) September 4, 2014But there was some really good humour too, that lightened the mood..
Chinese President is confused whether to Meet Purana Pakistan PM Nawaz or Naya Pakistan PM Imran #YeTuLolHogaya
— Bilal Mumtaz (@isthatuinurdp) September 4, 2014Someone tweeted to Dunya TV anchor and newscaster Ajmal Jami..
@ajmaljami Heard Chinese President cancelled his visit. He must ve heard TUQ calling himself marx, lenin, stalin combined.
— Zubair Azam (@zubairazam3) September 4, 2014Blogger, humour-writer and one of the most famous tweeples of Pakistan Nadeem Farooq Piracha decided to take some potshots at Imran Khan..
Breaking News: IK announces PTI s victory against imperialist China. #ChinesePresCancelsPakVist
— Nadeem F. Paracha (@NadeemfParacha) September 4, 2014Columnist and diplomat Mosharraf Zaidi came up with sarcasm, aimed at the PTI fans..
Revolutions more importsrant thenn corruptss lifafa foreign palsy. China? Whos care china? Imran honests. Honests don need Chinas.
— Mosharraf Zaidi (@mosharrafzaidi) September 4, 2014But, radio host Asad Khawaja had some serious concerns, and genuine too..
At this point I m actually concerned about Sufisal s mental health. Like, seriously... https://t.co/iUZiYXZ0u0
