Summary Power supply was immediately restored to the major areas of Karachi through alternative source.

KARACHI (Web Desk) – An extra high transmission line tripped on Saturday morning, suspending power supply to several areas of the metropolis, Dunya News reported.

Tripping of a feeder and extra high tension line occurred around 7:00am today due to which supply was discontinued to different areas including Baldia Town, Orangi Town, SITE, Liaquatabad, Nazimabad, North Nazimeabad, Federal B Area, New Karachi, and North Karachi.

According to K-electric sources, power supply was immediately restored to the major areas through alternative source. However, the restoration process to all the affected areas completed after three hours.

The outage was caused due to a technical fault which led to the tripping of a major transmission line.
