Summary Chairman PTI says PM will have to leave position till investigation on election rigging completes
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News, Web Desk) – Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has said that the Pakistan Army had no role to play in the sit-in and reiterated his demand that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif must leave his post till the investigations on election rigging get completed.
In an interview to Indian media, Imran Khan said that fair investigation of the election rigging cannot be ensured unless Prime Minister does not leave his seat. He said that Nawaz Sharif had lost all authority after the statement of former Additional Secretary Election Commission Muhammad Afzal Khan. Imran Khan said that Nawaz Sharif should make some other person from PMLN the Prime Minister for some time.
Responding to a question, Imran Khan said that Army did not play any role in this sit-in. He said that he just wanted to bring those responsible for rigging in elections to the book. Chairman PTI said that after Afzal Khan’s revelation, Supreme Court should immediately order re-elections in the country.
Moreover, Imran Khan said that the movement against election rigging was underway for the last 14 months and the 2100-pages White Paper contained all the proofs of rigging.
