Political crisis: Governor Punjab to meet governor Sindh, MQM leaders today

Summary Ch. Sarwar will be discussing the political scenario and commending MQM’s efforts to negotiate.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – In a bid to diffuse tension between government and opposition parties, head of government’s negotiation committee, governor Punjab Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar has left for Karachi to meet governor Sindh Ishratul Ebad on Tuesday.

Governor Punjab would discuss the political scenario and crisis with governor Sindh and commend the efforts of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) to minimize the ongoing tension.

Chaudary sarwar is also likely to talk to chief MQM Altaf Hussain over the phone.

Earlier, MQM chief Altaf Hussain had formed a team to hold dialogue with the government and the protesting groups in order to end the ongoing political crisis.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief said the next 72 hours were very crucial, adding that the decisions should now be taken immediately.

He urged the government and the protesting groups to understand the gravity of the situation. Altaf Hussain urged to resolve the issue through meaningful dialogue.

MQM chief said the country was passing through a critical phase and the national exchequer has already faced a loss of Rs 800 billion.

He said that most of the demands of Tahirul Qadri were constitutional and the government should immediately call a session to accept his legitimate demands.
