Summary Clash breaks out between the police and PAT workers in Islamabad.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A violent clash broke out between the police and the club-wielding Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers on Monday in Islamabad after they initiated a march towards the Cabinet Division which consists of the most senior and elected officers of the executive branch of the Government of Pakistan. An exchange of expletive-laden language was also reported at the sight of clash in Islamabad. The clash between police and PAT workers broke out after the Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered PAT and PTI workers to end their sit-in protest outside the parliament house in Islamabad.
Currently, the law and order situation has been brought under control. According to reports, PAT chief Tahirul Qadri would be addressing his party workers today (Monday) at 5PM. Sources have revealed that Tahirul Qadri would make some important announcements for his party workers. Initially, Qadri’s address was going to be held at 3 PM but has been delayed till 5 PM.
Thousands of followers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chairman Tahir-ul-Qadri have been demonstrating outside the parliament building in Islamabad, trying to force Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from office.
