QUETTA (Dunya News) – The officers of Frontier Corps Balochistan carried out separate operations in Quetta and Dalbandin on a tip off from the intelligence agencies and foiled a terrorist attack attempt today.
Cache of heavy weapons and grenades were recovered whereas 3 militants were also arrested as a result of the operation.
The weapons taken into custody were brought in front of the media at FC Madadgar Centre.
Corps carried out the first operation in the area of Hazar Ganji in Quetta at New Kahan and recovered 4 missiles of a 107mm, 11 shells of 120mm Mortar, (41) 107mm fuses, 77 land mines, 9 anti-tank mines, 58 hand grenades, 21 safety fuse, 100 detonators, an SMG magazine, 80 kilograms of explosives along with hundreds of ammunition.
In the second successful attempt to foil a terrorist attack in Dalbandin at Faisal Colony, officers took 3 militants into custody and recovered 43 SMG, magazine, 3 Kalashnikovs, 3 short guns and 5 pistols of different bores.
Satellite sets and motorcycles have also been recovered from the terrorists and taken into custody.
According to the FC officials, these explosives were brought to Quetta and Dalbandin be used during various important gatherings and occasions. FC had received a tip off from the intelligence agencies that led them to halt any such conspiracy.
