LAHORE (Dunya News) – Justice Amir Mahmood Lahore High Court (LHC) issued a stay order against the tax notice sent to Minhajul Quran for Rs 800 million on Monday.
Minhajul Quran lawyer Ali Zafar said that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has sent the institute a notice for Rs 800 million and has subsequently issued a show cause notice for not submitting the said payment.
Zafar further stated that the taxes do not apply to Minhajul Quran as it is a charitable institute.
After hearing the arguments, the court issued a stay order and ordered the Commissioner Inland Revenue to pass a judgment on appeal.
